Kin

Kin, a pulse-pounding crime thriller with a sci-fi twist, is the story of an unexpected hero destined for greatness. With his ex-con brother in tow, they are forced to go on the run with a weapon of mysterious origin as their only protection. To capture the weight of the film’s premise, we set out to galvanize fans and turn interest into intent through a visually compelling social experience. What resulted was a seamless micro content-driven campaign using Facebook Canvas Ads. We divided the campaign into 3 chapters that explored the discovery of a new power, the threat of the chase, and the technology from a new world. These chapters were used to create an overarching narrative that revealed intriguing plot points to entice fans and establish the tone of the film. The immersive element of canvas ads allowed fans to explore our hero’s journey while uncovering 3D and mograph content inspired by the film. The canvas ads went on to generate pre-release buzz with over 500k impressions in a single week.

A Facebook Canvas Experience

There are only a few pulsating crime thrillers that gives off a sci-fi vibe you wouldn't see coming, Kin is one of them. It's a tale of two brothers; one is a hero who seeks greatness, the other, an ex-con. Both were forced to go on the run and their only protection, a weapon of mysterious past.
There's something supremely cool that went on in the film, and at times you can catch sight of it. That's why we ran a visually engaging social experience to help fans explore the film in chapters using Facebook Canvas Ads while uncovering 3D and Motion Graphics content inspired by the film. The canvas ads generated over 500k impressions during its first week.
